Historical Context
Guru Gobind Singh, born in Patna, Bihar on December 22, 1666, was the final human Sikh Guru, a spiritual leader, philosopher, and warrior. He is deeply revered for founding the Khalsa community in 1699 and for instituting the “Five Ks” articles of faith. The Indian Posts and Telegraphs Department issued this stamp to celebrate the third birth centenary of this pivotal figure in Sikh history
