The Centenary of Vande Mataram commemorative postage stamp was issued by the Indian Posts and Telegraphs Department on 30 December 1976 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of India’s historic national song.

- Visual Layout: The stamp features a horizontal layout that directly reproduces the complete text of the first stanza of the “Vande Mataram” song in Devanagari script.
- Physical Dimensions: The paper stamp measures 39.75mm x 29.50mm.
- Historical Significance: The stamp honors Bankim Chandra Chatterjee’s immortal patriotic poem, which was composed independently in late 1875 and later integrated into his 1882 Bengali novel, Anandmath. The lyrics served as a primary moral force and rallying cry for freedom fighters throughout the Indian independence movement.
