Smart Ways to Care For your Unique Stamps

At Shobhaphila, we know that collecting is more than a hobby – it’s a passion. To help you protect the beauty, condition, and value of your stamps, we’ve curated a few essential tips every collector should follow. These aren’t just best practices. They’re part of the Shobhaphila standard.

Store Your Stamps in the Correct Way

Use moisture proof, archival grade stamp sheets or albums, just like we do. Avoid cardboard albums, as they absorb moisture and can damage your stamps over time. Proper storage ensures lasting brilliance and flawless condition.

Handle With Care

Every stamp is delicate. Use stamp tongs to handle your pieces. But why? This avoids natural skin oils from causing stains or creases. Gentle handling is key to preserving mint condition.

Protect From Light and Humid Condition

Keep your stamps in a cool, dry environment, away from direct sunlight. Use moisture absorption sachets for added protection. We use the same in our packaging. It allows perfect delivery without any damage.

Catalog Your Collection

Maintain a simple record. Track the purchase date, condition, type, and any special features. It does add value but also deepens your connection with every stamp you own.

Use Oil to Keep Out Bugs

Preserving stamps is an art and thereby you need to do the needful to keep out bugs. Applying light touch of oil near where you store your album can help deter bugs and keep your stamps protected.

Uvoid Excessive Handling

Limit how often you take stamps out for viewing. Frequent handling, even with care, increases the risk of accidental damage. Display them thoughtfully or scan them for digital viewing. Preserve the originals in pristine condition.
